Battlefield Bad Company Review
EA and EA Dice are back with more destruction than ever, this time in Battlefield: Bad Company. BC’s destructible buildings and terrain with beautiful graphics make this battlefield game a worthy addition to the series.

First of all let me begin with saying Bad Company is beautiful. When I first (xbox evolved preview goes here) previewed the multiplayer portion back when the beta was out, I was a bit skeptical and hadn’t really took to notice what the game truly is. Destruction is this battlefield’s worst enemy as it will see a lot. From buildings to trees, they all can be demolished. Sure, everything is not completely destructible but as long as you’re equipped with grenade launchers, grenades, and other explosives, it’s all good. There’s even the ability to have a designated area blown to bits with an airstrike of some sort once, that device is acquired, and it all sounds great…literally! The sound in the game is top notch thanks to the Frostbite engine, delivering high definition audio that is just music to my ears. Shoot a gun in the open, it sounds so realistic; the empty space, echo, it’s all just so good, even the explosions.

The game features a campaign mode which I’m sure many will come to enjoy. The A.I. can vary from time to time but the multiplayer can make up for the experienced lust gamers miss so much from single player games. Bad Company follows a wayward band of ordinary soldiers who decide the gratitude of a nation isn’t enough. You play as Preston Marlowe in a story-driven campaign across enemy territory. You being as the “new guy” and just watch your team mates as you’re still new to this like a new student in a new school. Later you come across gold which then drives the motivation of the team to continue and find all the gold they can while of course still whooping some serious ass. The player can take control of many vehicles in the campaign to get around and there’s are many weapons too choose to shut one less enemy down including a handy dandy but oh so useless combat knife. Ranging from three difficulty levels, all players should be able to find their appropriate level in no time.

One of many vehicles you can expect to operate.

Bad Company features the all new, objective-based multiplayer game mode, Gold Rush, supporting 24 players online. You can play as attackers and defenders and make full use of the tactical destruction as well as the unique vehicle experience that can get the player from point A to point B see if fit. Oddly enough, Gold Rush is the only multiplayer game to play. No Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and no other usual multiplayer mode you would expect to find here. Whatever the reason may be, Gold Rush is still a ton of fun and I hear that other modes may be added later via downloadable content. We’ll keep tabs on this for you all.

As of August 7th, Battlefield: Bad Company now offers players worldwide the intense rush as they tackle online play in a whole new way with Conquest mode that will be released as a free download for the Xbox 360.

EA Dice has always delivered with their battlefield games and this is no exception, Bad Company is great. With a good storyline with entertaining and almost memorable characters then a fun 24-player online multiplayer mode, any fan would be pleased to add this game to their collection. The campaign can be dragged down a bit by little to slow A.I. but it’s all made up for in the multiplayer. Battlefield Bad Company is a good game and it shows.
